DIOCESE OF OXFORD: CHURCH AT HOME

PRAISING GOD TOGETHER

At the moment, when things are so hard, it seems difficult to praise God or indeed feel much joy. But praise is actually good for us. Graham Tomlin in our Lent 2021 Book writes this: “Sometimes people wonder why, if God is so great, he needs us to worship him?...Yet the reason we sing songs and utter words of praise to God is not that he needs it but that we need it - and God knows that we need it, which is why he asks us to do it” (Why being yourself is a bad idea, p161).

Here are a collection of some of our favourites sent in by St John’s Community.
